Number two Heather Watson has reached the quarter finals of the Tianjin Open after documenting her best win for two years.
Watson took only an hour and 20 minutes to beat second seed Wang Qiang 6-3 6-0 – before this season, that reached the US Open quarter-finals.
Watson hadnt conquered a player but dominated contrary to 22nd-ranked Wang – claiming her victory because a win over afterward World No19 Anastasija Sevastova at Wimbledon in 2017.
In the last eight years, Polands Magda Linette, who advanced after the retirement of Kurumi Nara when she was 4-0 down in the initial set will be faced by Watson.
