Chris Silverwood favourite to take over as England head coach
England are close to appointing a new head trainer with Chris Silverwood the favourite for the job.
Discussions over the consultation have been taking place that weekend and silverwood, whos now the bowling coach of England, was interviewed for the function, Sky Sports News knows.
Hes now set to substitute Trevor Bayliss, that left after four years in charge last month as head coach, along with a statement could be made as early as next week.
Gary Kirsten, the India and South Africa trainer, is known to have been interviewed from the ECB.
Silverwood is knowledgeable about the England set-up using functioned under Bayliss, and won both sections of the County Championship while.
The 44-year-old, who had been a pace bowler with Yorkshire, performed six Tests and seven one-day internationals for England between 2002 and 1996.
Hes now set to become only the second Englishman to coach the national group on a full-time basis since 1999.
