When Brazil travel to take on Saturday, there is one player everybody will have their sights set on – Marta.
The legend was a flag bearer at a house Olympics would be the scorer for her nation, also even received a telephone call if she was a teen and is regarded as the greatest player of her creation.
But what makes her special?
Martas seven goals in China in 2007 led Brazil to their first ever Womens World Cup final.
five World Cups having a punishment from Australia, the 33-year-old became the first player to score at this seasons championship in France.
Then less than a week after, her goal in a 1-0 triumph over Italy left her the all-time leading goal scorer in World Cup history by 17, moving before Germany guyss striker Miroslav Klose (16).
With 112 goals in 147 appearances, Marta has a much superior minutes-per-goal ratio compared to any other Brazilian – and shes averaging more than a quarter of her sides World Cup targets.
Between 2010 and 2006, Marta remains the sole female footballer to have won over three times and won five consecutive Fifa World Player of the Year awards.
If she conquer midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsan along with Ballon dOr winner Ada Hegerberg she also added a award in 2018.
Marta created the Best XI in 2016, 2017 and 2019 and has placed inside the top three to four further seven days – Frances Wendie Renard was included on occasions.
She has also won a number of high scorer accolades playing golf clubs in Sweden and America, plus the Golden Ball award for the best player at the 2004 Under-19 World Cup, then both of the Golden Ball and also the Golden Boot in the senior World Cup in 2007.
American magazine Sports Illustrated named Marta at the top 20 athletes throughout the years between 2000 and 2009.
As well as her accomplishments on the pitch, Marta has struggled for equality in womens soccer and has inspired a new generation.
Following the last-16 departure in France of Brazil, Marta gave an emotional language calling on players to follow in her generations footsteps.
Womens soccer depends on you to endure, she said. Consider it, appreciate it more. Were asking for support, you have to cry at grin and the beginning at the end.
It is about needing more, it is about training longer, it is all about looking after yourself more, its about being prepared to play 90 minutes after which 30 minutes more.
Marta said she hoped her accomplishments wouldpush for womens empowerment.
Let me be more clear, this isnt just in sport. That is a struggle for equality across the board, she added.
England forwards Beth Mead, wholl face Marta at Saturdays match at the Riverside, described Marta as alegend and she isa player that we admire on and off the pitch.
Marta is somebody I have observed for several years growing up, Mead told BBC Sport. The things she has done from the womens game are phenomenal.
Just like Lionel Messi with Argentina, the person brilliance of Marta has not been enough to lead Brazil to World Cup glory.
A second-place end in 2007 has been the closest she came, although Olympic gold medals have slipped through her grasp on two occasions.
When you talk of Brazilian footballers, you believe about world winner Pele, and striker Ronaldo who picked the Golden Ball at 2002 at the 1998 World Cup and the Golden Shoe.
Marta has done her bit individually but aside Brazil Women exited at the last-16 in the two most recent tournaments and have failed to proceed beyond the World Cup quarter-finals.
Marta, at 33, is running from time to win World Cup, however, its not out of the query.
Brazilian Formiga became the oldest player in the tournaments history when she collaborated this summer, making four appearances such as the overcome by France.
Elsewhere, American Kristine Lilly – the most capped (352) footballer ever – retired at 39, although Canadian Christine Sinclair, 36, captained her nation at the fourth time in a World Cup this summer.
Two-time Globe Player of the Year Carli Lloyd, 37, also appeared in every game for the USA at France, while the oldest player to feature in a final would be American defender Christie Pearce (formerly Rampone) who picked a winners trophy in 2015 at age 40.
