Anthoine Hubert: Respects paid at F2 driver’s funeral in France
Even the motorsport community paid its worth to Anthoine Hubert at the Frenchman’s funeral.
Racing coworkers and friends, such as Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Charles Leclerc, and George Russell, combined friends members and Hubert’s family at the ceremony in Chartres, France to remember that the 22-year-old.
Hubert was killed on August 31 in an accident at Spa-Francorchamps.
A portrait of Hubert was displayed outside the palace. Drivers’ crash helmets were laid out on chairs inside.
Hubert, the winner of the GP3 championship this past year, was a part of Renault’s driver academy, along with also the Enstone staff posted a heartfelt tribute to him on social media, describing him as a”good” man.
The Formula 2 championship tweeted:”Now, we recalled the glowing light of one of our brightest stars, Anthoine Hubert, with the rest of the motorsport community. Our thoughts have been with people nearest to him, as his life has been celebrated today at Chartres Cathedral.”
FIA president Jean Todt and world champion Alan Prost, who is a Renault F1 adviser, were among those in attendance.
