England and Arsenal winger Beth Mead hopes abusive chants will be stamped out of football
Arsenal and england winger Beth Mead says there is no location for abusive chants in soccer, in either the mens or womens game.
The event was marred by reports of chanting, although manchester United beat Liverpool 2-0 in the their first ever Womens Super League meeting on Saturday.
The FA are investigating the claims of Liverpool that director Vicky Jepson – alongside the team in general – was targeted from the United supporters.
United say they are investigating and are conscious of the allegations.
Mead is currently starting on Saturday with Brazil, also claims that the chants are a topic of conversation among the Lionesses.
Its disappointing and we dont want it coming into the womens match, but there is no room for this in either the mens or womens game, Mead said.
Its very small minded of folks do that and folks develop for the love of football not for the dumb stuff coming out of peoples mouths.
I hope it has been stamped out and it does not happen again since it is not exactly what we as players, staff or anyone wants in the womens game.
