They are…the 2018 Oscars chances, brought to you by somebody who has not watched a movie in theaters this year and will not till Star Wars comes out. On a related note, The Jedi is +300 just to be nominated for Best Picture in BetOnline. You can’t tell me a Sundance Film Festival crap is far better than Star Wars. Maybe it has better themes or something, but there’s NO WAY you’re leaving the theatre. There is a reason why the prior earned three million at the box office while The Jedi is going to earn more than many small countries’ GDPs that are annual.
Unless you are an arthouse goon, I suppose you have not seen most of these films. Sure, there are a few larger films on the market. I actually just watched Get Out a couple of weeks ago…sort of underwhelmed if I’m being honest. Do not get me wrong, I could enjoy/understand some”artsy” movies, but when they forced me to see Citizen Kane in this movie course I took in college, I quite literally fell asleep I was so freakin’ bored.
It would appear as if Dunkirk is expected to be this year’s”it” movie. Maybe not Stephen King’s It, but the film that cause audiences to lash out irrationally every time and will triumph like 12 awards they’re called up.
I am no cinephile so I am not going to analyze the odds. Perhaps go to the A.V. Club or another site for actual analysis on the actors and films.
